Better than candy

and every bit as irresistible, are the scrappy patchwork hearts I've been happily stitching up.

My block is based upon the charming, Emily Ann's Kloset PDF candyHEARTS quilt pattern.  Such a sweet design!

Virtual Fabric Play

Today* is the final day to enter the Vintage Rainbow mosaic contest over at Stitched in Color, hosted by Rachel and sponsored by Fabric Worm.  One of my favourite things to do, is to look at fabrics and play with different colour combinations, so it's no surprise that I couldn't resist the temptation to make a mosaic for this contest.

A quick look at the palettes I had pinned from  Design Seeds onto this board ,  and I had found my inspiration for a fabric mosaic!  I'm calling this happy little rainbow of fabric, Vintage Pretty Bouquet. :o)

Vintage Pretty Bouquet

Thanks so much to Rachel for her always inspiring mosaic contest themes and to Fabric Worm for sponsoring this fun fabric contest!

*You still have time to get in an entry (or two!) of your own before voting begins tomorrow.  Come join the fabric fun for a chance to win FQs of your mosaic choices.

Update as of January 27th... Wow!  What a wonderful surprise to be one of the two winners in the contest!  I'm over the moon, and want to not only thank Rachel and Fabricworm, but thanks to all who voted for my mosaic.  Thank you so much!!!

Stitching more scraps for the kitchen

I've been on a mission to stitch up some much needed items for my kitchen and at the same time tackle the overflowing scrap bins in my sewing room.

Stitching for the Kitchen

My first sewing finish for the new year! A pair of linen tea towels, cut from some yardage, that I jazzed up with a band of colourful scraps, a ruffle and sweet striped binding.  Guaranteed to add some cheer to the task of drying dishes. ;o)
