I have to show you what happens when a friend tells me how much she likes something I've made. I return to my fabric stash and see if I have enough of the same materials to make her a gift.
This latest bag is a sister to the one I made that Andrea won in my giveaway a little while back.
I had just enough of the vintage tablecloth to make this second bag, but not enough of the stripe fabric to use as the lining this time around. Fortunately, my friend likes corduroy, because that's what I lined her new bag with instead of the stripes. Other changes from the original bag are the direction of the stripes and the interior bag pocket. I prefer the zippered pocket on this bag to the patch pocket I had on the first bag.

Your bag is beautifully done and I love the fabric. Your friend is one lucky girl! Thanks for the link to the pattern book.
ReplyDeleteSo cute - again! It's funny how much the direction of the stripes changes the look!
ReplyDeleteI love these bags too, I am quite envious. Yellow and green look great colours together. x
ReplyDeleteI join in: beautiful bags, then this last one is perfect!
ReplyDeleteLucky friend! It is surprising how a few small changes can individualise the bag.
ReplyDeleteAs always your bag look great! You have inspired me to buy the book, I can't wait to receive it and get started! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI really love this book.
ReplyDeleteAnd your bag turned out beautifully. Love those fabrics
That's lovely - I'm so jealous that I never find vintage sheets when I go thrifting. Perhaps I need to look at other thrift stores besides my regular haunt.
ReplyDeleteLove the bags! I have the book and haven't made a thing from it yet! Yay for you to be such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteBoth are so gorgeous! I love the stripes and florals.
ReplyDeleteBoth bags look really great! It is really funny how such simple changes can really change the look!
ReplyDeleteit is a great bag, but I still can't get over how huge it is compared to what I thought it would be!
ReplyDeleteYour friend is so very lucky but for more reasons then receiving one of the most beautiful bags in the world. :-)
ReplyDeleteLucky sister! I am sure she will love it as much as I love mine!
