Can you help???

Here I am adding text to the tutorial I promised and just as I'm about to finish I hit the wrong button and delete a very important photo. As you can imagine my tutorial is dependent on the photos and now I've lost one. Ack. What do I do? I can upload the photo to my post, but I can't move the photo to the appropriate place admongst my text - it needs to go at the end NOT the beginning of my tutorial. I use to be able to move photos on my posts- but it's not working. How do I move around photos on Blogger?

  1. Katherine, the best thing to do is re-import it into your post and have your cursor at the point you want it within the text, then click OK to add in; a little bar should appear so you can either choose to centre it, or have it left or right. You should also be able to click on the photo, hold down right mouse and drag it to where you want it within your post. Hope this helps, difficult to explain w/out being there! Good luck :o))

  2. Just in case you have trouble with the above (sometimes blogger is mean) if the photo is in the wrong place and it won't let you drag it, highlight it, cut, then paste in the right spot.

  3. sometimes I just close the whole web browser then start it up again. It seems to like a fresh start sometimes - good luck!

  4. If you drag the photo to where you want it, it usually won't open up to full size if we click on it but if you right click, then cut, then place your cursor where you want the photo moved to and then hit paste, the photo will be where you want it and if we click on it, we will see it full size...... well, that's how it seems to work for me:-)

    Good luck!

  5. Blogger.... hmmm.. that’s a while ago, but the above comments make all sense...LOL!

I always switch my text and photo’s in a post to HTML and then it is much easier to move them around. You can also change the size of your pictures when they are in HTML, that’s was I do in Wordpress. Good luck!

  6. That was one of the reasons I moved to wordpress... I had lots of troubles adding photos on blogger. So I can't help but those comments make sense as Nicolette says. Good luck!

  7. Nicolette is right on the money...cut and paste the HTML in to the correct place.

As an aside, I've been using an add-on with Firefox called Scribefire for writing and publishing my posts and I find it it is much more user friendly than the blogger screen.

  8. Oh, Katherine - how frustrating. I've not found a way to move photos around on Blogger - for that reason, I now use Windows Live Writer, so many more options and much more user-friendly. As far as the post you've already got started - that's a tough one - can you cut and paste it from the beginning to the spot you want it?

  9. Hi there K! I may be late, but sometimes when I have some problems with my photos like moving them around I usually go to Edit HTML just next to the COMPOSE and copy the whole code of that photo and paste it to the exact order you want it to be on your post. I hope this helps!

  10. Hi Katherine,
If you go to settings from your dashboard and scroll down to "Select post editor" and check the radio button for "Updated editor" this should solve your problem. I used to have a terrible time with photos until I changed this setting...it lets you import them into any position and move them about.
    Cheers
