Pattern for the mini swoon can be purchased through Thimbleblossoms |
My mini swoon blocks (pattern by Thimbleblossoms), are finally a sweet little mini quilt after a session of free motion quilting and a bit of machine binding.
The quilting is a motif that is a continuous design, which I had fun stitching - not perfect by any stretch, but fun to do. It doesn't show up as clearly on the front, but the solid fabric backing reveals it all.
If you remember, I said that for this project I would challenge myself to use fabrics by only one designer, which is not my usual style. I had received some Pam Kitty Morning fabrics from my friend, Maja and I combined them with the few PKM fabrics I have in my own stash. It all came together even better than I had hoped - right down to the idea of fussy cutting for the cornerstones!
I am completely smitten with Pam Kitty Morning fabrics and will be looking to add more of them to my stash. The scale, colours and designs are perfect for patchwork!
The mini swoon makes for such a sweet and satisfying finish. Ta-Da!
*I have also made a Swoon quilt (same block, but scaled up), in a past swoon-along.
Lovely Katherine! In my eyes your quilting IS perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I agree with the comment above, the quilting looks perfect! There are so many things I love about this quilt. The block pattern, the beautiful fabric, the way you assembled the fussy cuts. Bravo!!
