Woolen Wear for the Teapot

See the zip front cardigan on the left?

It recently had a make-over. Felted and refashioned along with a red wool sweater (that makes up the side panels in this project) the two cardigans became a teacozy.
The bottom edge of the cardigan front and back worked perfectly to make the finished bottom edge of my new tea cozy. I even cut a strip of the bound front off the neckline of the cardigan to make the loop at the top of the cozy.
Here's to thrifted sweaters and fabric scraps! Time for a tea break as a reward. ;o)

Beautiful! I saw some of these at the Christmas One of a Kind Show here in Toronto last year ..... have you tried making small pillow covers? A small pillow out of the fairisle sweater in your photo would look lovely. This is my first comment on your blog - I've been reading for about a week. I'll be back.

Great felting! I have these kind of ideas, but have never actually done anything like this. Your teapot looks wonderful!

I just love it when things are re-purposed! Oh not that I don't just love going to the fabric store, but it just seems so satisfactory when you can make something new from something old!!! Love it!

So cute! I'm going to try felting this weekend.
I had 2 wool sweaters in a bag on their way to goodwill, but I pulled them out at the last minute.

One is a lovely sky blue. I need to find the perfect project for that one.

I stumbled across your blog a few months ago and have checked it every once in a while. I am so impressed with this tea cozy! I didn't even know that you could make stuff out of sweaters! Oh man, so much to learn....:-/
