Finally some sunshine

yesterday so that I could snap a couple of pictures of a cute and quick bag I just finished.

This is the 'Dapper Day Bag' from Meg McElwee's book, Sew Liberated.
I used some thrifted denim and vintage heavy weight cotton to make my version. I love the simplicity of this design and the added kick that the pleats and piping give it.

As in the original, I used a magnetic snap for the closure and then for my own extra "touch" I made a self cover button to match the piping and top stitched the bag handle with a twin needle. Simple and fun.
