Blue or green?

One of my projects awaiting a finish is made up from a collection of blue and green scraps that I randomly pieced together.  The patchwork pieces are pinned to my design wall waiting for me to decide how I want to proceed.

One of the decisions  concerns background fabrics. I've decided that using white would be too easy, so I pulled out a couple of Kona FQs to help me decide.  Funny how a blue background makes the blue scraps stand out more and then a green background does the same for the green scraps.  Either would work, I think.  I'm leaning towards the green (as blue would be the next easy default colour for me to use after white ;o).   Which do you like?

  1. Love the blue and green together (that's my second favourite scrap combo, after pink/orange :D). I'm more partial to the blue background - possibly because there's more blue than green in the scraps? Both are lovely, but the blue "nudges" ahead for me :D

  3. I agree with Sandra, in that there are more blue scraps than green, but that is the reason I like the green background. It seems to bring their richness out more! I am looking forward to seeing where this goes...

  4. I too am a blue person, so I went right there, but you know what, I think the green looks great! That is my pick!

  5. I like them both! I think if I were to go with green I would get a warmer green, more yellow, as most of your scraps seem to head that way...

  6. My first thoght would be blue, but then I thought:
-Why not use both blue and green as background!!!
That is what I would have done!!!

  7. I would never consider white as easy or default. If it's what looks best, then it's just magic. White just makes colors shine. Especially when only bits of it are in some of the fabrics. I don't know how your design with these blocks works, but for me they call for white to join them. I'm sure in real you have a better visual of the color blends than I have on a computer screen. I love the looks of your scrappy pieces.

  8. Love them together, although if I have to choose I would say the blues.

  9. Blue! Or if you're feeling adventurous - both. :-)

  10. Wonderful scrappiness! I like both the blue and the green, but the green makes the greens pop a little more I think. Have you considered a natural colored linen for some texture?
