Scrap it

I spent last month sewing clothes and this month, it seems like my theme is going to be sewing with scraps. There's more than enough to keep me busy for a bit, that's for certain. ;o)

First, I pulled out my red scrap container and next came some pink/purple scraps for some colourful fun.

I love the randomness of this kind of piecing and find it so relaxing.  I just keep placing bits of fabric together and love the freedom this method involves.  While my fingers are busy, my mind is able to ruminate - as this sewing needs neither intense concentration nor exacting measurement.  I simply use the bits and pieces on hand.  Not sure exactly where I'm heading with this bit of patchwork, but finding it satisfying to be thinning out my scraps while I create one-of-a-kind yardage. ;o)

  6. I love this kind of project too. I can watch TV or talk or daydream and still sew at the same time. Wonder what this will become...??

  7. I keep telling myself to do this, but there's always some project wanting to take up the play time. And I'm so easily led astray with a project. Your pieces are looking awesome!

  9. Your scraps look so great together. Mindless sewing is wonderful for when creativity is at a low ebb. I'm in the midst of sewing clothing these days - for myself.
