to get my baking done before heading off to work for the next 4 days in a row. With any luck I will have enough made to get us through until my next day off! (I've found that "hiding" baking in the freezer keeps the hollow legged teens from devouring it all too quickly. Out of sight, out of mind?) Besides buns, I'm making more pita bread. It's just lovely to have for my lunches. Homemade pitas and hummus. Delicious!
Yum, those look delicious. OK, now I am seriously hungry.
ReplyDeleteThe smell comes through my powerbook!! Pita breads and humus, great combo!
ReplyDeleteIf I open my door can I smell you bread baking! Wish so. Maybe I will drive around sniffing for the wonderfu scent of your baking. I stick to cookies muffins and cakes....no yeast here!
ReplyDeleteYour post makes me want to start baking some bread! We have a long weekend here this weekend so I may make up a batch.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... what time is lunch...?
ReplyDeleteThat makes me hungry just looking at the pictures, and also I can imagine the wonderful smell of freshly baked bread. There is nothing better!
ReplyDeleteHomemade pitas?? Ohhhh, I'd love a recipe for that. I had a donair in a homemade pita at a local restaurant some time ago, and after tasting that, who can ever go back to those flat, cardboard-like versions found in grocery stores.
ReplyDeleteYum!
Oh my! Homemade pita! Please consider doing a tutorial! I think there are a lot of us who would love it!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen all the hoo-haa in the blogworld about the bread-baking book "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day"? Do a google search and take a look. I have been doing their basic loaf almost daily and my family loves it!
i'm so impressed that you find time to bake your own bread now that you are working (outside your home). i bet the homemade pita is outstanding!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, Would you share your yummy recipe with us? I love to make homemade bread.
