Keeping it Bright

It's been raining here, on and off for days.  Getting a little concerned that our basement will flood again.  Have to say, it doesn't feel like summer at all.  Seems crazy that I have to turn the lights on during the day or the house is like a cave.  So to counter the gloominess, I've been working on something in colours that make me think of summer... they remind me of popsicles.
I raided my stash and pulled a selection of pinks and oranges, cut some strips and played around with their arrangement.

When all the sewing and cutting was complete, I found I was left with some lovely scraps.

Oh, I guess you might want to know what I've sewn!  I hate to tease you, but I'm only going to give just a peek...

with a finish to follow soon.  These fabrics are cheering up my dark day while I wait for summer weather to find us.

  1. Love the colours - they are cheery. We have alternating sun and clouds here today, and wind, and rather cool temps. I'm longing for summer weather.

  2. Lovely colours! I am helping my daughter make her second bag using the same colour scheme. She chose the fabric herself and is wants the bags for a festival in July.

  4. I'm going to guess that the pink and orange will become a throw pillow! The scraps are luscious - I think I can hear them whispering to me - they said they want to be a zipper bag when they grow up! :D All scraps dream of becoming zipper bags - at least - in MY house, LOL!

  9. LOve the colors, here in France weather is also bad, one day hot and immediately thunderstorms and then rain and the day after sun again, no real summer.

  11. Hi Katherine! Your work looks so beautiful! I'm sure those colours help you if the weather is not good. Great pattern, I could use my diamond cutter finally for something like that. I'm looking forward to see more of this sunny project! x Teje
