Taking your bedlinens shopping...

Here's one of the ideas I've had for using those thrifted bedlinens I've been collecting. You only need the amount of fabric that's in a pillowcase...

to make yourself some funky shopping bags! If you add a pocket to the front of each bag, you can store the bag inside its own pocket for space conservation and convenience.
When folded up inside the pocket, your shopping bag will look like this:
So how small does it fold up? Take a look....

It's all ready to be taken with you on your next shopping trip!

  1. I love the pink and orange flowered one. Now you've tempted me to go thrifting for pillow cases. You and your twisting of my rubber arm...

  2. So cute!!! What a great idea to have them for your pocket. I'm always carrying mine around and I imagine a day will come when I place them down and forget about them.

  3. Too cute! I may have to make some of those too! I just made a dress for my daughter out of a pillowcase... I love it - so simple. The bags look easy too!

  4. Clever idea - you're bad for my shopping habits - did you know that? LOL I have a number of fabric shopping bags - they're quite popular here in Ontario.

  5. Okay, this is just genius!! I have made myself a shopping bag, but it's huge and I never remember to bring it with me...this is the perfect solution!

  6. That is a brilliant idea! I love the look.

  7. Wow, those are great... so compact and funky. Perhaps even I would remember to take them into the store with me. :-)

  8. Hi Katherine, love your blog! You have been tagged.
    1. Link to your tagger and post these rules on your blog.
    2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
    3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs.
    4. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

  9. These are just too clever, I really shall have to learn how to use a sewing machine. x

  10. HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did I miss the news that you'd started your own blog???
I LOVE these bags! GREAT idea!!! I love the way your brain thinks!!! Gorgeous!

  11. fabulous idea!!! and so cute, too. :)
