The basic pattern for these lounge pants is found in the book, In Stitches by Amy Butler.** *I have to tell you that as much as I love these lounge pants and thought it was a great way to use vintage bedlinens... I'm receiving some teasing. My husband refers to them as my 'Sound of Music' pants (he's referring to the movie... not that other thing you may be thinking of...). Remember the scene in the movie when Julie Andrews sews playclothes for her charges using the draperies in her room? Apparently using bedlinens for pants means I'm cheap. Yeah. Smart -alecky hubby...***

I am giggling here.. I am not a hmmm petite person, I'd need the sheets to make my lounging pants, but this is such a cool idea!!!

The contrasting bottom is brilliant.

Oh wow, I bet those are soooo comfortable! Perfect for summer pj's! I will definitely be trying this out.
I love those. I can imagine they would be great for sitting on the porch sipping tea on a spring/summer morning. Beautiful fabrics, Katherine.

I wear these sort of pants in bed, although I have to buy mine. The vintage pairs you have made are fantastic, you are sew clever! x
They are awesome pants, threaten to make him some !!! Or just sing Do-a-deer all day till he stops.
Those are GREAT!
I love the contrast of prints and the older washed bed linens would make for some very soft and comfy pants.
Kimberly :)
Very cool! I have been meaning to get this book. I really want to make the kimono robe as well. I have been having trouble getting pictures on my blog, so I haven't yet posted about the Pay it Forward, but I will tomorrow- I'm sooo excited!

I just made 2 lounge pants..I am living in them...
Hey your hubby is lucky that you are not running your credit card bill up ;)..and using bed linens :). I am one of Maria's followers too! hehe
I hope you are enjoying Easter lounging around in those pants. x
I was just looking at some of my pillowcases and wondering what to do with them. More sundresses for my daughter? No, I like this idea better! Thanks for the inspiration. :)
What a great idea! I bet you could find lots of cool vintage sheets at the local thrift stores as well. I and bet they would be soft and silky feeling as the old cotton sheets get so soft.
Happy Easter

Not cheap at all! Creative, environmentally-friendly, and one who knows how to dress in comfort! I made a pair out a sheet from a barn sale. They are soooo wonderfully comfortable!
Excellent idea! I will have to get hold of that book. I bet they are super comfortable.
LOL How lucky your husband is to have such a cheap wife :) Those pants are terrific.
I think they are cute!
I have a sheet and the pattern...I just need to sew mine up, too. I know I will get a good teasing about mine as well. that just means that they care. ;)
I think they're great! My husband would say similar things, little does he know I'm eyeing off his shirts for extra fabric lol!
