Evening Embroidery

I've tackled a new project lately. The embroidery kit I found at the thrift store has become my favourite evening project to work on. I have never embroidered a tablecloth before but have been enjoying the simple stitches and bright floss colours.
Stitch by stitch...

and section by section...
I'm making slow, but steady progress.
The above photo shows one quarter of the area I'm to embroider. I have a ways to go before I finish!

I love doing handiwork in front of the TV at night. I love your tablecloth - the design is really pretty and the stitches so even!

it's beautiful, katherine! and a much better choice than hand stitching a quilt during the hot summer months.

oh how lovely!! truly beautiful! my great grandmothers did a lot of embroidery and I have a couple things of theirs that I treasure. I learned as a child but haven't done much lately. This makes me want to start a project!
Sweet embroidery on a baby's clothes? too lovely :o)

It's been years since I've done any embroidery.

It's going to be beautiful once you've finished. You're satin stitches are so even, I'm envious.

So pretty Katherine! That is going to be gorgeous! I just bought an apron that has an embroidery pattern on it. Maybe I'll have to give it a try!

Hey Katherine,
You brought back memories for me! I was taught to embroider when I was 10 years old by a dear neighbour lady. I still have the emboroidery roll with all the different flosses inside that she gave me.
Your stitching is so beautiful!!

I can't wait to see it! It's so lovely already. :) I like to do counted cross stitch. It's so peaceful to me. I haven't worked on something in awhile, I should get on that! Yet again, you've inspired me! :)
