Plaid Perspective

Sometimes to see if you're making any progress on a project,
you have to take a step back,
 change your perspective,
otherwise it starts to seem rather endless.
* Did you notice the one "wonky" plaid hexagon in my first photo?  It wasn't intentional, but I've decided to let it be.  Sometimes a "mistake" can add a extra touch of interest, don't you think?  The perfectionist in me wanted to change it, so this is an exercise in letting go or changing my perspective.  ;o)  Funnily enough, until I pointed it out, my "oops" went unnoticed - at least by my family.

  1. I didn't notice it either! Sometimes I get sooo sick of what I'm working on - even though deep down I really love it! Sometimes my step back includes putting it in a box for a year or so!

  4. I just love the quilt, I may have to add it to my 'To Do' list for Hubby or Son.
I got over my perfectionist tendancies after reading 'Bend the Rules Sewing' by Amy Karol. It also saves a lot of time if you don't have to do too much reverse sewing (aka 'unpicking').

  5. this is something he will treasure his whole life. I understand what you mean about wanting to change something and make it right. But the idea of don't apologize, don't explain is something that I am working on. Your son might not have noticed it ever. Remember, he thinks that you are perfect anyway!
