WIP Wednesday - beginning

I've got one block sewn for the new quilt using the fabrics I'd shown in my last post.  Along with those happy pink/orange/cerise colours, I've added in a mixture of low volume fabrics from my stash.  Some of those low volume fabrics are from a swap I participated in last year.  So glad to put them into this quilt!

As exciting as it is to see all the cut pieces up on my design wall,

I will be more excited to get this baby pieced.

This is the first time I've used a variety of low volume fabrics as a background on something larger than this wall hanging and I'm loving it!

What are you working on today?

  1. Cerise - such a pretty word (it sounds like it would taste good, lol) and such a pretty colour :) That's a gorgeous collection of fabrics and colours in your block - particularly the unicorn (horse?) :D

  2. OOPS I got distracted by the word cerise and forgot to answer your question - I'm not sewing anything today! I have 3 HVAC guys working away in my basement - since my sewing room is also the room with the furnace, it's like a tornado down there right now :D My big sewing table is shoved up against a wall to give them room to work, and everything is topsy turvy :) Without the interruption, I'm sure that I would have worked prodigiously and would have completed at least 3 UFO's today - perhaps 4 ;) (NOT!!!!!!)
