I've been on a mission to stitch up some much needed items for my kitchen and at the same time tackle the overflowing scrap bins in my sewing room.
Scraps are stitched directly onto quilt batting and then another layer of batting is added before quilting the layers together. |
I used two layers of quilt batting, a layer of insulated batting, then corduroy for the palm side of the oven mitts and lined them with quilting cotton. Hopefully this will stand the heat in the kitchen. ;o)
There's more scrappy sewing to come as I've also got some potholders to finish, completing my new set of kitchen linens, all of which has helped thin the contents of at least one of my scrap bins. ;o)
Another happy finish that I look forward to using in the kitchen!
Boy, I hate to cook, but I think I wouldn't mind it so much with these red beauties helping me! How joyful your kitchen must look now!
