Beginning

Paused to snap this photo as I was heading back to the parking lot after going for a short (and cold!)  run on the trails in a local park on Jan. 2, before the end of the day.

I can hardly believe that here we are, already a handful of days into 2017! Wow.  Where does the time go? I am feeling rested and recharged, thanks to this past week and am full of high hopes for this New Year and I wish each of you health and happiness for a wonderful 2017!

Kalmalka Park is one of the blessings of living here and we love hitting the trails for some exercise.  This photo was taken late afternoon, looking out at Kalmalka Lake during some trail running with my husband.  It is a beautiful park and understandably, a popular place to commune with Nature - year round.

This time of year is not only one for planning for the year ahead, but of reflection.  A part of 2016 that brought my family and myself much joy, is the move we made (after 8 years, living 7 hours away in a huge city), to return to living in the Okanagan valley in British Columbia.

It is hard to express just how happy and thankful we are to be here. Even though it's winter and perhaps not the season that our area of the world is most famed for, I hope you may see a slice of the attraction it has for us, based on these two photos (taken a week apart from each other over the holidays). My family has a strong affinity for Nature and that is why it makes me practically giddy to say that this beautiful scenery above (and much more) is now a part of our lives.

It is six months since our move, but not a day passes without expressions of happiness over being here. My intentions for the New Year begin with a focus on appreciation - so I want to begin by thanking each of you. I am so happy that you choose to take the time to visit my little corner in blogland and knowing that some of you have been around since I started this journey (my blog turns 10 this year!?!), makes me beyond grateful. Thank you so much!
