Amidst all the works in progress and sorting out what to sew next in my list of seasonal projects, I have finally made a finish. The kind that makes me smile with delight and satisfaction.
My first finish using my scrappy mini tree blocks. |
A big part of my delight comes from the fact that every bit of this project came from my stash.
Love seeing tiny bits of favourite fabrics come together for a one of a kind finish. |
There's the scraps of cotton, as well as a bit of linen for the patchwork front,
Serendipity to find two pieces of leftover self made binding that would give me just enough to bind the pillow. |
the two fabric binding (cheers for using up odd pieces),
Couldn't resist adding a sweet fabric "stamp" as little detail on the pillow back. |
the bits of leftover batting which I had to piece together and then finally, some corduroy and a zipper (both thrift sale items) for the back of the pillow.
My new pillow happens to match quite nicely with this quilt I recently finished. |
Satisfying to have all those parts come together so beautifully. Now on to more finishing! ;o)
It is wonderful!!! Love it!!!

ReplyDeleteThat is ADORABLE! I didn't even notice the pieced binding until you mentioned it - that's definitely a scrap-lovers binding :D I hope everybody pieces their scraps of batting too - I do - it's a great way to upcycle those bits :) The pillow looks perfect with the quilt (no surprise :D) - congratulations on such a sweet finish, Katherine!
