Scrappy Mini Tree Pillow in Red

Amidst all the works in progress and sorting out what to sew next in my list of seasonal projects, I have finally made a finish.  The kind that makes me smile with delight and satisfaction.

My first finish using my scrappy mini tree blocks.

A big part of my delight comes from the fact that every bit of this project came from my stash.

Love seeing tiny bits of favourite fabrics come together for a one of a kind finish.

There's the scraps of cotton, as well as a bit of linen for the patchwork front,

Serendipity to find two pieces of leftover self made binding that would give me just enough to bind the pillow.

the two fabric binding (cheers for using up odd pieces),

Couldn't resist adding a sweet fabric "stamp" as little detail on the pillow back.

the bits of leftover batting which I had to piece together and then finally, some corduroy and a zipper (both thrift sale items) for the back of the pillow.

My new pillow happens to match quite nicely with this quilt I recently finished.

Satisfying to have all those parts come together so beautifully.  Now on to more finishing! ;o)

I didn't even notice the pieced binding until you mentioned it - that's definitely a scrap-lovers binding :D I hope everybody pieces their scraps of batting too - I do - it's a great way to upcycle those bits :) The pillow looks perfect with the quilt (no surprise :D) - congratulations on such a sweet finish, Katherine!
