One of the projects that I have been exploring lately, is making letters of the alphabet using scraps.
I started with the letter K and then moved onto the letter G and will admit it's been a delightful way to use up my 1.5" squares of fabric.
My plan is to make first name initials for my immediate family and turn each letter into either a pillow or a mini quilt. We'll see though. I keep coming up with more ideas of how I could use these blocks for a variety of projects! ;o)
EDITED:
I have written a brief tutorial on how I made my letter K - click here!
Aren't these just delightful?! I look forward to seeing what decisions you make in how you will be using them too! Fabulous Katherine!!

Awesome blocks, and awesome knack for photography "assemblage" (I know there's a better word for that, but my brain just can't come up with it off the top of my head, lol) :D Those blocks are adorable, and will make great pillows :) In fact - pillows personalized like that would make a cool Christmas gift!

ReplyDeleteMost of the comments are from a few years ago have you made more letters since then? I am interested to know if you ever made a "J"? I have several different J's in my sewing room and would love to make one like this. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you for asking about my scrappy letters. Yes, I do have a letter "J" made and am planning to share the pattern for it this fall. I have decided to release one letter of the alphabet at a time, to make it easier for everyone. I will be giving an update here on my blog, so you will know exactly when to expect the pattern to release. I greatly appreciate your interest and your patience!
DeleteWill you be making the whole alphabet? I am very interested!
ReplyDeleteI too would like to see tutes/patterns for the whole alphabet!
