No tricks, just treats

It's Friday and I've got a new finish, plus it's Halloween, so I have a treat for you!
Thanks to an invitation from the lovely ladies at Sew Sisters, I got to choose from among the bundles they curate for their monthly Kona Club and design a project to share with you.  Yay!
my Kona Club Challenge design, a placemat that I've named, "Twigs".

Coming soon...

Why, hello there!  It looks like I've disappeared from blogging again, but I've just been busy with lots of "can't show you right now" projects.  Lots of fun, but a reason behind my blogging silence.
However, there is one bit of secret sewing that you will get to see very soon and it starts with these yummy Kona cottons from the lovely ladies at  Sew Sisters.  Oh, I can hardly wait for you to see!

An inspired idea...

I was taken with Angela Pingel's book, Quilter's Mixology and her clever ways of modernizing the drunken path block. She shares so many lovely and inspiring designs in her book, however, the one design that especially caught my eye, was her ornament block.
Inspired by her gorgeous ornament quilt, I couldn't resist making up my own design using ornament blocks with a extra seasonal take... in the form of appliqueing on some text. My individual drunken path blocks finish at 2 1/2" square, so that was some tiny curved piecing, but I managed it without pins.  Looks like all that time spent sewing Barbie doll clothes has finally paid off! ;o)

Curves ahead

Working on something new.  That's what long weekends are for, right? ;o)
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers!

Apparently, I needed a little blogging break and didn't realize I did, until I took it. ;o)  I was feeling burnt out.

Basting is underway on the Swoon quilt I started last year.
